Whereas Russia stays a serious supply of India’s arms imports, the reliance on international armaments is lowering as home defence manufacturing has surged over the previous decade. Indigenous manufacturing hit a file ₹1.27 lakh crore in FY24, marking a formidable 174% improve from ₹46,429 crore in FY15, lowering import dependency to 35% from over 65% in 2014-15.
