Global fintech startups seeking funding have the opportunity to participate in the Fintech World Cup (FWC), organised by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Registration is currently open for an initial pitch competition that will take place tomorrow (17 November) at the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF) between 3.00 pm-4.30 pm at DIFC’s booth (6B25).
On top of the one held at the SFF, regional qualifying competitions will also be held across ten major business hubs in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to select the most promising startups as finalists.
This global competition, part of the larger Dubai Fintech Summit, is designed to identify and support innovative startups in the fintech sector.
Qualifying finalists in Dubai stand a chance to secure up to US$1 million in funding. The grand finale will be held at the Dubai Fintech Summit organised by the DIFC on 6-7 May 2024.
The regional winners will not only compete for substantial investment but will also receive mentorship from industry experts, engage with venture capitalists, and gain insights from community leaders.
Additionally, they will be provided with exhibition spaces at the subsequent Dubai Fintech Summit, expected to attract more than 8,000 attendees and over 150 speakers from around the world.
Startups interested in this are encouraged to apply through the official Fintech World Cup website.
Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer, DIFC Authority said,
“Central to DIFC’s Strategy 2030, we are always seeking new ways of nurturing our ever-expanding fintech and innovation ecosystem, the largest in the MEASA region, by providing access to funding, a global talent pool and the latest in physical and digital infrastructure.
