We are introducing a long overdue update to the industry of outdoor K9 gear by using the latest innovations in outdoor gear tech and materials to build our line of high-quality products for dogs.
Progress and Current Status:
With our website up and running, and a blog that posts helpful and entertaining articles regularly, we are now focusing on SEO, marketing, and more product development. Our first originally designed product, a hiking harness and backpack for dogs to wear, has underwent numerous prototype iterations and we have now finalized the design. We will begin large scale production in March 2023. In addition, we are launching a series of custom designed dog leashes and collars.
What is an Inspiring Story about the Startup?:
DOGPAK was inspired by my own intrepid travels with my dog, Thunder. In our 13 years together, we have traveled to 30 countries and nearly every US state, hiking, camping, and exploring in all different climates and landscapes around the world. It wasn’t always easy, and there were times I was unsure about our direction, the journey, and the destination, but our perseverance through those difficult times paid off. In realizing that these shared adventures are the backbone of our inseparable bond, I decided I wanted to find a way to help other people develop a similar bond with their dogs. DOGPAK aims to make that easier by providing insightful content and producing high-quality adventure gear.
What is a Company the Startup Looks Up to, and Why?:
Ruffwear is, of course, the heavy hitter in this industry, and they do a lot of things well. That said, we see room for improvement and innovation in certain product lines and in the kind of content we can provide to customers. Wilderdog has also done a great job in their endeavor to make outdoor K9 gear. We would like to add our stories, ideas, and designs to the world of dog gear.
The Company in Four Years Will Be…
We intend to work with professional dogs and human teams who specialize in things like avalanche search and rescue, natural disaster recovery, and K9 military training. Additionally, we aim to be a household brand name among dog owners who also identify as outdoor enthusiasts. We will appeal to the adventure-crowd who believes that living is preferable to merely existing, and to those who look to the outdoors to find their fulfillment.
