Rotterdam-based Skoon, a company that offers clean energy solutions and renders services in renting large batteries, announced that it is accelerating the energy transition with an online marketplace for clean mobile energy systems.

The company says that with the marketplace, it is now simple to get renewable energy solutions of various sizes for use at construction sites, gatherings, filming locations, ports, and several other uses.

Skoon and Rabobank partnered up earlier this year to spur the expansion into new countries as there is an increase in demand for the software platform on a global scale.

Peter Paul van Voorst tot Voorst, founder of Skoon, says, “We are happy with the confidence of Rabobank in our marketplace for clean mobile energy. This helps our customers, the software platform and our international team to grow faster. Rabobank’s expertise and additional capital will also give an extra boost to our upcoming Series A funding round.”

Online Marketplace for clean mobile energy

Skoon was founded In 2017, with the idea to electrically propel large container vessels with the use of swappable battery containers. The company is working on a future in which there is clean energy for everyone, everywhere.

The company claims that Skoon Sharing and Skoon Suite are the foundation on which various additional services around mobile energy assets are created.

In 2019, the company launched the world’s first battery-sharing platform, Skoon Sharing. The supply and demand of clean energy assets, such as portable battery systems, hydrogen generators, and solar panels, are brought together through Skoon Sharing. These renewable energy solutions are accessible to hundreds of building sites, events, movie sets, and industrial uses.

Skoon continually onboards partners so that consumers of energy may always locate an ideal, accessible, and cost-effective sustainable energy option. Additionally, it also helps facilitate the energy transition.

To further support the owners of such energy assets, the company developed Skoon Suite in 2020. Skoon Suite is a subscription-based software tool for the supply side of the online marketplace, enabling owners to manage a fleet of mobile energy assets and all related commercial processes.

Based on commercial and energy data, the tool assists firms in gaining a competitive advantage and in growing their operations much more quickly. A developing renewable energy rental firm may use Skoon Suite as a solution for asset management, booking administration, remote monitoring, finance, and other functions.
