The Centre on Wednesday launched two instalments of tax devolution to the state governments amounting to Rs 1,16,665.75 crore.
In a press release, the Union Finance Ministry mentioned that the 2 installments have been launched as in opposition to the traditional month-to-month devolution of Rs 58,332.86 crore.
“That is in keeping with the dedication of the Authorities of India to strengthen the fingers of states to speed up their capital and developmental expenditure,” it mentioned.
As per the ministry, states like Andhra Pradesh obtained Rs 4,721.44 crore, Assam obtained Rs 3,649.30 crore and Bihar acquired Rs 11,734.22 crore.
Equally, Uttar Pradesh obtained Rs 20,928.62 crore whereas Madhya Pradesh acquired Rs 9,158.24 crore.

The share of states within the Central taxes — on the combination stage of 41 per cent — was determined by the fifteenth Finance Fee. Usually, that is transferred in 14 installments in a fiscal 12 months.
