ICICI Bank Limited on Monday said that it has received Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) nod to reappoint Sandeep Bakhshi as Managing Director and CEO, said the lender through its exchange filing.

The private sector bank has added that Bakhshi has been reappointed for three years, from October 4, 2023 to October 3, 2026.

“At the Annual General Meeting held on August 30, 2023, the shareholders had already approved the appointment of Mr. Bakhshi for the abovementioned period,” said ICICI Bank Limited through its statement.

Bakhshi has been holding the position of MD and CEO of the bank since October 15, 2018. Before this, he had worked as a Wholetime Director and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for ICICI.
The CEO has been with ICICI Group since 1986 and has handled various assignments across the group such as ICICI Limited, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, ICICI Bank and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.Bakhshi holds an MBA from Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur. He has groomed a number of CEOs including Ritesh Kumar, MD and CEO HDFC Ergo, Anuj Gulati, MD, Religare Health Insurance, Nilesh Garg, MD and CEO Tata AIG General Insurance, Rakesh Jain, CEO Reliance General Insurance, and Tarun Chugh, MD and CEO Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance.Along with this, the bank recently received RBI’s approval to make I-Process Services (India) Private Ltd a wholly-owned subsidiary of the lender.
