On June 1st Ukraine took navy raiding into the twenty first century. It did so with little greater than ingenuity and 117 drones, which emerged from vehicles throughout Russia—all over the place from Siberia to the Chinese language border—and destroyed a dozen or so planes in Vladimir Putin’s long-range air fleet. The raid got here amid the Russian president’s relentless bombardment of Ukraine. On June ninth he launched his largest drone strike of the battle, sending 479 machines to hit Ukrainian airfields, cities and factories.
