SCOR Investment Partners, the asset management arm of the French reinsurance group and a manager of insurance-linked securities (ILS) funds, has experienced “significant net inflows” in 2023, taking its overall assets under management to a new high of more than €20 billion.
The asset manager said that it saw a “significant acceleration of assets under management” in 2023, especially in its third-party activities.
This growth is the result of implementing a range of strategic objectives, that saw SCOR Investment Partners aligning its offering of specialised investment solutions for institutional clients with the broader SCOR group strategic plan.
While SCOR Investment Partners is the main asset manager for reinsurance firm SCOR itself, the company also offers investment funds and opportunities to third-party institutional investors, including its catastrophe bond and ILS offering.
Of the now more than €20 billion in assets under management of SCOR Investment Partners, some €7.4 billion is sourced from these third-party institutional investors.
The asset management company experienced close to €900 million of net inflows from external investors in 2023, helping to grow its total.
At least some of that flowed to the insurance-linked securities (ILS) fund strategies that SCOR Investment Partners offers.
Our latest information on the SCOR Investment Partners ILS investment offering shows its ILS assets under management reached US $3.9 billion at January 1st 2024.
Which had grown from US $3.2 billion at January 2023, suggesting a considerable portion of the overall SCOR Investment Partners third-party capital inflows went to its cat bond and ILS funds last year.
Of the €7.4 billion in assets from third-party investors, the SCOR Investment Partners ILS fund offering now accounts for around 45%, we understand, as almost 96% of the US $3.9 billion in ILS AUM is sourced from from external investors.
Louis Bourrousse, Chief Executive Officer of SCOR Investment Partners, commented on his firm reaching the new assets under management milestone, “We are thrilled of these results confirming that we are recognized by our clients. These results speak to the resilience and excellence that have driven SCOR Investment Partners for nearly 15 years as our teams leverage both an asymmetric risk culture and our sustainable investment expertise.
“We look to continue this strong positive momentum through 2024 with the launch of new investment propositions building on our established expertise, notably across our value-add real estate debt and infrastructure debt strategies, which are designed to finance the energy and digital transitions.”
